Tribal Handmade Jewellery

Born in India and raised in her birth country and Belgium, Ruchira Padia is a Bachelor of Commerce graduate from Calcutta University. After graduating she started designing costume jewellery and taking part in Fashion Shows throughout India. Her designs rapidly swelled in popularity and she soon had the prestige of selling them to the top boutiques in Bombay, Delhi and Calcutta.

In the meantime Ruchira also worked for a leather export company, where she had the opportunity to take part in a leathergoods course to craft bags and wallets. This naturally evolved into designing bags and wallets, which in turn extended to designing silk scarves for her company that were later sold in the world-famous Hermes store in Paris!

From humble beginnings to selling handmade quality goods to upmarket boutiques and working backstage with models during fashion shows in Paris, Ruchira’s story shows what can be achieved when you have hard work, dedication, and perhaps a little dash of luck.
